All players must arrive 15 minutes before their try-out to register. Parents are not allowed in the gym during try-outs. Players should wear comfortable clothing, shoes, & bring a water bottle.
Varsity girls Coach Dave LaCoe & Varsity boys Coach Dan Elhand will conduct tryouts, and notify players of try-out results. Approximately 11 players will be chosen for each team. Players who do not make the traveling team are strongly encouraged to play on the house team.
Parents it is important prior to try-outs that you are aware of the related costs that are associated with the traveling team: 5th - 8th Registration including uniforms = $300.00 (Payments can be made in 3 checks dated for November 12, December 1 & Jan 2nd, 2010). A separate $80.00 Middle school sports fee is also required and is payable to the Robert J Elkington Middle School office this will cover gym costs and school insurance coverage. Registration fees include approximately 10 tournaments (Typically 4 games per tournament) 3-4 Northwoods League Tournaments and 3-4 additional Coach’s choice tournaments in addition to the GR tournament on April 10 -11, 2010.
Parents are to transport their player to each game. Games are generally no farther than 2 - 2 1/2 hours away or +/- 180 miles per tournament. Food expenses are the responsibility of the players and parents. Practices will be held 2-3+ times a week at the RJEMS.
Scholarships based on need are available, and ride sharing is strongly encouraged.
